Grocery Shopping

Since Lydia was born I have only gone grocery shopping once with just me and the girls. And it wasn't so bad because Lydia slept the whole time and Sophie was just excited that she didn't have to sit in the cart so she obediently walked alongside and held onto the cart.

Yesterday I decided that I was going to go by myself and boy was that crazy. Mom I don't know how you did it with all of us!  I didn't even get in the store before I ran into trouble. Sophie wanted one of those carts with the car on the front. There was no way that all of my groceries were going to fit in that thing we hadn't shopped for 3 weeks. So I explained to her that we needed to use a different cart. She proceeded to lay flat on the ground and pout.
Once I got her off the floor she was covered in black dirt. Gross. So I had to wipe her down with a baby wipe. Luckily Lydia at this time was sleeping. I was worried since she has been pretty cranky lately because she refuses to nap. We were doing good Sophie was listening and while she wasn't holding onto the cart she was walking right next to me. And then she started playing and thinking I was chasing her with the cart. She was getting too far so I asked her to come back. She starts running towards me and she trips and her shoe goes flying halfway down the aisle. Lydia starts to cry.
A nice store associate brings Sophie her shoe and says "aww sweetheart you cant be running down the aisles in these cute little shoes." (I was really hoping no one had seen her wipe out but oh well.) Sophie calmed down and amazingly so did Lydia so we picked up the rest of our groceries and headed to checkout. I start unloading and Lydia is angry..beyond done shopping. And Sophie is taking lighters and candy bars off of the shelves. Ahhh!  When I told this story to Chad he said "oh so you were one of Those People today" Yes yes I was thanks Hun. The cashier handed Sophie a balloon and then she was good and as long as I held Lydia she was good.

After a long ride of Lydia screaming and getting stuck at every light and a train we finally made it home. Right now Sophie really likes to help take in the groceries which is so nice. Just to give you an idea of how long this adventure took me we headed to the store at 3:30 and once I got everything put away it was 6:30. So I think I will be taking Chad to the store with me from now on. Unless I get brave enough to try again.

Pros and Cons of Working from Home

-You get to roll out of bed and work in your pj's. (this I do pretty much everyday)
-Flexible Hours
-No commute and save on gas.
-Being your own boss is pretty awesome.
-I get to stay home with these little cuties
-Inconsistent paychecks
-Sometimes I feel like a hermit because I am home ALL the time
-No paid vacation time
-I had to learn to work with Distractions.....
As you can tell my girls also enjoy being in their pj's most of the day. Or is it because their mother doesn't dress them until 3 o'clock?

Lets Garden!

Just a follow up on Kimberly's garden challenge. We went to Lowes and picked out some lettuce, zucchini, sunflower, and watermelon seeds. Sophie was excited to help.

We decided to just plant the seeds in smaller pots for now since we don't have any planter boxes (or anything for that matter) in our backyard.

Hopefully by the time they are ready to transplant we will have somewhere to plant them!!

Happy Easter!

Easter was really nice at our house. Besides the fact that Sophie woke up at 5am.."Good Morning Mommy!" umm not so much Sophie....I had just finished feeding Lydia and was putting her and myself back to bed. But thank goodness for movies. She watched Tangled and I slept on the couch. Once Daddy woke up we checked out our Easter baskets.....

Found Eggs....

Sophie even went and grabbed Lydia's basket and put eggs in there for her. So sweet.

Chad didn't have a meeting and I didn't have choir so we had an extra 3 hours to get ready for church! So we did a photo shoot...

I told her to pose like a Princess

After church we had some yummy dinner at my parents and of course an egg hunt...

Happy Easter!!!!

Coloring Easter Eggs

Yesterday we dyed Easter Eggs Sophie loved it!

Sophie really tried to get into the Holiday spirit yesterday. Hence the shirt. Lydia was just content to watch...

Do you want to hold an egg Lydia?
Ok but you have to promise not to eat it....

I'm not sure I trust that smile...

Yep shouldn't have trusted it.
Last year we had a blue dye incident Sophie's hand became a smurf.

We thought we got away this time until we turned our backs for one second and Sophie was feeding Lydia a blue egg...

Wait Sophie give it back! I liked it!

I have always loved having a sister. Ok so we didnt always get along but in the end we were always best friends. It is nice to have someone who completely understands your blonde moments, and who will forgive you after you get really mad at them for going and taking a shower after a rotten watermelon leaks all over their head instead of finishing helping feed the chickens. And who you can give a hard time too and they still love you :) (hopefully)

I will admit I was a little sad that I didnt have a girl then a boy first. (Although a part of me was relieved I had another girl because I am not sure what I would do with a boy)
But now I am sooo glad I had a girl because having a sister is awesome.

I know there will be times that they will fight and just be plain emotional (oh wait has that already started?) But I just hope that they are as close as I am to my sister.

Saturday Softball Game

Chad won tickets to the UofA softball game from his work last week. We were excited to go and he got 7 tickets, but then we realized we are kind of losers and had no one to go with. That is what family is for right? haha So I called Brad and they were able to come with us!! Woohoo!
Ayden loves baseball and was so excited to be there. He is such a cutie!

I know he doesn't look too excited in the pic but he was moving around so much I didn't get a good pic of him. At this moment I think he was getting told to sit down. Sierra was so funny she said she wanted the purple team to win, umm wrong team Sierra...

Sophie did better than I thought she would she actually watched quite a bit of the game...
I guess we got lucky because Lydia was awesome too! She just chilled....
Here are some more pics from the night...

I am not sure what the kids were doing in the last pic but they had fun! It was a really good game too. U of A beat Washington! And they only played 5 innings! There were several home run hits too which was exciting. Thanks Brad and Becca for coming with us it was so much fun!

Lydia 4 Months

Lydia turned 4 months old last Thursday. She is getting so big. We went to the Doctor on Friday. Doctors appointments are bitter sweet for me. I love to see how much she weighs, and tips and tricks from Doctor Hickie. But I hate the shots. Necessary yes, but so sad. Sophie on the other hand Loves going to the Doctor especially for Lydia's appointments she doesn't get shots but still gets a sticker at the end.
Poor thing doesn't know whats coming....
There used to be an amazing nurse there who would get all of the needles and band aids all ready and get all three shots done before Sophie even finished her first cry. The nurse they have now is very nice but man does she drag out the process. She does one shot, opens the band aid, puts it on, then uncaps the next shot, etc. Meanwhile Lyds is screaming her head off, Sophie is twirling in the corner and singing, then when Lydia starts to calm down the next shot comes and it starts all over again. Sometimes I just want to tell her "Can't we just get this over with!" Sorry for my little spiel. anyways...
Lydia is now 12 lbs 13 oz. Shockingly she is a whole pound lighter than Sophie was at this age. We have determined it is her cheeks that make her look so chubby.  She is in the 78% for her height and is 25 inches long.   Her favorite things to do are rolling over, screaming, playing with Sophie, and of course eating.
Tonight she gets to start rice! Wooho!
