So I have totally fallen off the band wagon and haven't posted anything. It has been crazy with both my jobs and getting ahead in school so we can go on vacation tomorrow! We are really excited!
This week I got an email from pull ups where you can have a Disney Character call your kid for doing a great job going in the potty. I thought Sophie would love this so I scheduled Cinderella to call her.(it is just a recorded message but she liked it).
She talked about it the rest of the day. How Cinderella said she was such a big girl.
Do you ever get the feeling that someone is watching you? Lately I have.....
Instead of napping she does this and crys forever because she can see me. It doesn't work well when I am on the phone. So when we get back from Idaho it is officially time to move my office out of Lydia's room.
In the midst of work, children, and school I have begun dreaming of the color green. When you live in a place like this:
You tend to dream about big green tress and thick green grass. You know green. The real take your shoes off and roll in the grass green! We are only a week away tomorrow from going to green!!! Yay Boise here we come!
(as you can tell I am not excited at all).
Today is laundry day. Sophie loves putting away laundry which is awesome.
Some days she doesn't wait for me to fold them and starts grabbing clothes out of the basket and stuffing them in drawers. Then there is Lydia who scoots halfway across the living room and grabs the shirt at the botom of the pile and knocks it over causing me to have to re-fold.
Sophie: Hey what did I do?
hey mom can I have a shirt to chew on? you know im cute....
Feel free to use this tip the next time you get ambushed folding laundry.
Chad and my Summer craziness is under way. We have amped up our college pace so we can get done. This semester we are both taking 2 classes that are only 8 weeks long. Not only that but one and a half of those weeks will be spent in Idaho! Wow we are crazy. Between work, school, and family (plus for Chad and his calling he is out with the missionaries every week) we are doing a juggling act.
Chad and I are taking Biology together though which is nice. Every class we take together he beats me grade wise. I have a feeling it will happen again. We are so excited for our vacation in just a few weeks! Even though we have to take an exam and do a bit of homework it will be a nice break from the desert.
We are a week and a half down in our craziness and so far so good. Wish us luck! We may need it.
I have learned that I need to pay more attention to movies. Sophie picks out the funniest lines to repeat. Many times a day I will hear "who are you and how did you find me?" (Tangled) She is very serious when she says this. Or she will walk around saying "Everybody wants to be a cat!" (Aristocats).
On one of her movies it shows a preview to Hercules. "Oh mom we have that movie mom?" We didn't so I told her I would rent it on Netflix. When it came she was so excited to watch "Percules" as she calls it. She loved every minute of it and so I kept it a few days so she could watch more than just once. I love this movie too. Good story line. Good lessons in it. I could only imagine the funny sayings she was going to get from it.
"I happen to be a hero!" or "Thanks Herc its been a real slice." I was even prepared for "Ooo I got a fur wedgie." What I wasn't prepared for was "Oh my g.."
When she first said it I was shocked I had no idea where she got it. Then the next day she was watching it and at the part where Haties realizes Hercules is alive and Pain and Panic say "Hey wasn't that the name of the kid we were supposed to... Oh my..." Aaaah!!!! How did I not ever notice that before?? I thought I was safe with Disney but apparently I need to pay more attention.
Just FYI I explained that it wasn't nice to say that and she hasn't said it since.
Friday night Tucson Cheer Academy had a 10 year anniversary party. It is crazy to think that Chad has not been coaching for over a year now. It was such a big part of our life. Chad was at the gym 2 to 3 times a week. When Sophie was born he was coaching 3 teams so he was there almost every night. During competition season we were going to phoenix every couple weeks. In a way it is nice that we don't have to do all of that and it is really nice to have Chad actually come home after work. But it was still a lot of fun.
When Chad stepped onto the floor he had his hands on his hips and I could see it in his face that he missed it. And I didn't realize until we went to the party that I missed it too. Especially seeing all of the coaches. It was fun to visit with them again and to see that the gym was doing better.
Last Friday was the last gym day that Sophie got to go with Devon. Or who she lovingly calls "My Devon." She Loves Devon. Devon says he is going to marry her in the temple, when I told Sophie that she smiled and said "oh ok!" They are best friends in nursery and they have been coming to the gym with us on Fridays. We had found out a few weeks ago that they would would be moving to Utah. We are so sad and will miss them a lot but I am excited for them because they get to be closer to family which is always so nice.
I told Sophie Friday morning that it was the last day she got to play at the gym with Devon. She got sad and said "Mom I don't have a picture of Devon.." So I brought the camera.
Sophie said to me yesterday. "Mom Devon is going to move to my house!" Ummmm nope sorry Sophs. I explained it to her again and she says "Oh ok we go visit Devon!"
I guess when his mom told him they were moving he was sad because he wouldn't get to see Sophie anymore. But then he said it was ok because he would find her when he gets to college and marry her then.
I believe him. Chad and I are totally ok with that too. We would really love the in laws. I told his mom that we need to make sure they go to the same college.
Devon is just a few weeks older than Sophie and its funny because Landon is just a few weeks older than Lydia.
Lydia is going to miss her little boyfriend too.
We will really miss the Bargers, but we wish them good luck in their new adventures!!
Sophie was invited to a birthday party this weekend to a friend who she used to be in nursery with. Chad and I were her nursery leaders and now she is turning 5. Crazy. So I wanted to make her something cute. At first we thought about making her a dress. But I was nervous I have never made a dress before and if I needed help both moms were out of town.
So I thought I would make her a purse. I found a really cute one and all you need is two dress up bracelets and a fat quarter of fabric!
This was so easy to make and I think it turned out pretty cute! If you want the tutorial I found it here.
