Boise Vacation Part 2

After Sedona we headed to Richfield Utah where my Mom was born. She showed us her old house that is still there with the original fence that has tipped over a bit. It was so cool to see. The owners do not live in it currently but built a house next to it. I am kicking myself now for not taking a picture....but here is a picture of my Uncle Curt, Uncle Dwight, and my Mom playing in the front yard. It still looks pretty much the same.

The RV Park we stayed at was fun! There was bunnies everywhere. The girls were so excited and all Sophie kept asking to do was chase the chickens. So we went for a walk and fed the bunnies some carrots...

Most of them just ran away so we had to throw the carrots to them. But there was one that ate right out of their hands!

Then we fed the chickens some bread.

We also drove over and saw the Manti Temple. Sadly we couldnt get too close to it because they were setting up for the pagent...

The next day we headed to Salt Lake and took a tour of the conference center...

Sophie liked seeing where conference happens and she recognized the seats where the choir sings.

Then we checked out temple square...

Then we went across the street to City Creek. It is a really cool outside shopping center that was full of fountains and a little creek of course. My girls thought they had died and gone to heaven...

They have never seen one of these so they were not sure what to make of it haha.

The next day my cousin Jessica was nice enough to watch the girls so we could do a session at the Salt Lake Temple. I have neer been through it and it was such a cool experience.

Boise Vacation Part 1

Be prepared for a lot of posts! We have just gotten back from doing a lot of fun things on Boise. I feel like I havent been home forever. I left June 9th and got back last night. We had a ton of fun but needless to say we are glad to be home.

My parents were nice enough to take me and the girls on a mini vacation driving up to Boise and we stayed in their trailer. The girls were so excited to sleep in the trailer. They thought it was just so cool. Especially riding in the car with Toodles!

The first day we headed to Sedona for a couple of nights. We checked out Montezuma's Castle...

It is crazy to think that they built and lived up in the cliff. My Mom and I joked how we couldnt possibly imagine raising children up there. I could barely keep Lydia on the sidewalk. But she finally got into the groove took a stroll with toodles...

Then we checked out Montezumas Well. It was pretty much what it sounded like...a big hole with water...

But when you go down where the water comes out (what the indians used to irrigate their land) it was so green and pretty...

A random oasis in the middle of the desert.

Then we headed into Sedona to look at some shops. There was a really cool outside shopping mall with a ton of cool statues, shops, and fountains...

Sophie really liked this frog so she had to blow kisses back to it...

They loved all of the fountains. We would just go fountain to fountain and they would get so excited everytime we found one...

I realized I have never had Sophie make a wish in a fountain before. So I explained to her that she had to hold the penny, make a wish, and throw it into the fountain....

And the silly girl held the penny to her forhead while making her wish before she threw it. Haha I guess it makes sense the wish needs to be tranferred to the penny right? Lydia didnt really care she just grabbed the penny and threw it in.

The girls loved playing in the trailer. They played fetch with Toodles and dressed up...

They even went on a walk with Grandpa Miller and Toodles like this. Poor Grandpa...I told him he ddnt have to claim them if he didnt want to :)

Some Crafts

I have finally made a new wreath! I know you are all shocked...

I have been wanting to make this wreath since I started making them. I knew I had to get it done before I left for vacation in 3 days or it would not get done.

Sophie was invited to a double birthday party last week. It was one of her friends in her sunbeam class and her little sister. They were having a mermaid water party. One of the sisters likes Little Mermaid and the other a cartoon called Bubble Guppies. I found this adorable mermaid doll tutorial here.

I wanted them to look like the characters.

I think I may have to make some for my girls! The birthday girls loved them! I kinda got short on time and didn't attach their fins so they could slip on and off. I guess their brothers were totally freaked out by it, but the girls liked that they could "dress" their mermaids. So it worked.

More Journey Through the Book of Mormon

Last week we learned about how Lehi's family knew where to travel in the wilderness. We talked about the Liahona and how we have several things that can be our liahona today. Like the Holy Ghost, scriptures, the prophet, and our church leaders. Then we made our liahona...

Sophie loved this and would lead us around the house. Lydia just liked taping it together.

Then we read the story of Lehi's dream. I took some yarn and made a "rod" throughout our house. After a couple of practice runs I blindfolded the girls...

Which only lasted 2 seconds with Lydia she did not like it. And they had to make their way to our front door where the "tree" was.

They were so excited when they would get to the end. They would pretend to eat the fruit and share some with me. Sophie made sure that when Dad got home from work that there was fruit for him too. She said "We all need the fruit to be happy." Exactly Sophie!

Bowling Night

Last Friday was Chad's last day he had to work at Wells Fargo!!!! So we went and celebrated by going bowling. The girls were very excited!!

Lydia trying to pose like her big Sis

Sophie really got into it. She cheered for us and gave us good luck kisses. she would get so excited when she knocked down the pins...even if it was just one.

Lydia cheered too. And she really really liked watching the balls come back. We had to save her fingers several times.

she loved pushing the ball down the ramp. She couldn't care less if she knocked down any pins just as long as she got to push the ball down the ramp and hang out...

We had a ton of fun and I actually won for the first time ever!!!! I shocked especially since Chad got like 3 strikes...
