Friday Night Bowling

The girls and I went to pick Chad up from work on Friday and ended up going bowling with his coworkers. Sophie was so excited and clapped and cheered for everyone. Lydia was a bit cranky. She was so mad that she couldn't play with the bowling balls. When I tried to show she could roll it around she threw a fit because she just wanted to carry it around. Sophie loved to help Daddy bowl.....

Lydia helped a couple of times too but I couldn't get a good picture.  Chad got a couple of strikes and busted a move....

Although Sophie was pretty sad whenever he did. He would go by himself first and then have Sophie help him knock down the rest. But she loved every minute. Sophie has been bowling once before but she was only a year and a half old so she doesn't remember. We decided we need to take them again when it isn't Lydia's bedtime.

Cabin Fever

My car has been dead for a little while now and we are waiting for our tax return to fix it. In the meantime we are a one car family. Not a huge deal and actually it hasn't been too bad. If I need the car we just take Chad to work. The girls love it. But I only do this if I need the car which isn't too often. Sophie will look out the window and say "Dad has the car so we can't go ANYWHERE." We hadn't gone anywhere but the park across the street all week. Needless to say the girls were getting a little cabin fever.

So Friday and Saturday we took the car for sanity sake.

I took the girls to play at the park....

and to feed the ducks...

Saturday we went to the zoo....

It was fun and we defiantly needed it.

Valentine Outfits

My girls love clothes. Especially Sophie. I think Lydia just gets excited because Sophie is excited. They got some cute new outfits for Valentines Day. I know it is still January but I couldn't wait for the girls to wear them! The girls loved them and what do you do when your excited about a new outfit?

You play ring around the rosy.....

It's the fun thing to do. Thanks Grandma for your awesome clearance shopping!

My lil Shoppers

Last Friday we went shopping with Grandma Miller. My girls love going to JcPenny because they have the best of both worlds. Escalators and mirrors. My girls find everything they can see their reflection in....

Even when the things they find aren't really supposed to be mirrors....

Every time we would stop to look at something my girls drop to the floor to stare at themselves in the base of the stands. Are they conceded? Maybe... but as Chad says "they are not conceded they are confident!"

They also found the bed of their dreams....

Sophie loved it and said "mom take a picture of me by the pretty bed!" And Lydia said "ooo!" over and over.

This weekend we spent a lot of time with Grandma and Grandpa Clayton. My Husband, Father in law, and Grandpa Clayton are building a 1929 Woody Station Wagon! You can follow the blog Woodies World 2 for the details: http://woodiesworld2.blogspot.com/

So Chad and his Dad spent the whole weekend out in the garage while us girls entertained ourselves....We shopped at Joann's...

And made some really cute tutus!!

And of course we had to make BSU ones in preparation for next season!

And what do you do when you wear a tutu? Twirl of course!!

It was a fun weekend that ended with making homemade pizza! Here is Sophie's creation....

Blowing Kisses

Miss Lydia started blowing kisses yesterday....

Chad was leaving for work and saying goodbye. Lydia always has to follow him to the door and he blew them a kiss and shut the door. Then Lydia started blowing kisses....

A Desk for the Girls and Silly Sophie

Several months ago we saw a desk sitting out on the curb at Grandma and Grandpa Clayton's neighbor's house. It was white and blue and had teddy bears at the top and we thought it would be fun to take for the girls. We asked to neighbor and she said she was hoping someone would take it! So we took it home and painted it. Sadly I didn't get any before pictures but here it is....
We are going to put a chalk board on one side and a magnet board on the other. But thats a project for another day...
Sophie and Lydia just love to sit there and color.  I didn't realize how organized Sophie likes to be. I had put pencils and stencils in one jar and then pens in another jar but apparently that was not OK because she immediately moved all the pens and pencils together and put the magnets in the other jar. She is very particular about where things go. But it is nice because she loves the desk so much she puts everything away and keeps it very organized. It will be perfect for her when she starts school. Thanks Grandma Clayton for the fun ABC's!

Sophie is such a goofball and we love her a ton. She is always making up her own songs and is pretty much singing all the time. Its like shes in her own little world where shes always on stage...

Lovey Bear Recall and Lydia

We got an email from Build A Bear informing us that Lovey Bear was on recall. I was so nervous because Lydia loves Lovey Bear and I just thought she was going to freak out for sure. We took Lovey Bear to the store and she seemed pretty happy to get to pick out another one. Lovey Bear was quietly put off to the side and she got to put the hearts for Lovey Bear into her new bear....
She ended up picking the same one Sophie has. Sophie brought Princess Bear for a spa treatment and new Lovey Bear was stuffed to perfection...

She was so happy to have her new Lovey Bear and didn't even notice her other Lovey Bear had disappeared...Whew....
She has a love for all stuffed animals. Her favorites are Lovey Bear and Doggy...

This is what she picked out when she went Birthday shopping with Grandma Miller. She loves it so much that it has already ran out of batteries. I ask her where her doggy is and she gets all excited and says "Doggy!" and goes and finds it. She also loves to dance. She is quite the little twirler. Somehow my girls just got that naturally..

It is funny what she picks out and copies from us. She randomly started painting her toes the other night with Sophie's Tinkerbell makeup...

Zoo and My Girls' Favorite Hangout

Last week we took the girls to the zoo since Chad was off of work. They got to feed the giraffes.

Lydia was not sure about that long tongue coming at her so she let Grandpa do it. We went into Sophie's favorite area at the zoo to color..

And we came across Mildred who did some tricks for us and let the girls pet her...

Apparently she does shows on stage for kids at the zoo. I didn't even know you could train chickens. It was a fun day and the girls always love going there.

We got really lucky with two girls who love each other so much. They just love being together and they get sad if they are apart. Now that Sophie decided she wants to sleep up on the top bunk the bottom bed has become their favorite place to hang out together and read books...

Lets just hope they continue to like to spend time with one another. For now I am just enjoying every minute.

My Little Sunbeam Baker

Sophie is now officially a Sunbeam! It is so crazy to think she is in primary now. She is so excited to be a sunbeam and is always telling me "Mom I'm a sunbeam now!" She cant wait to go up on stage and sing. She has wanted to do that for awhile now. Hopefully Mothers Day will come quickly for her. On Sunday I asked her if I could take a picture of her for her first day as a sunbeam. She immediately said "OK!" and jumped on the couch...
She has fully enjoyed her baking set from Santa and has made a little bunt cake..

And a little pumpkin pie....

Next she wants to make sugar cookies with her cookie cutters and bake them on her little cookie sheet.

Happy New Year

For New Years we had a little party at home so we could put the girls to bed. We made pizza and watched a little football. Then we pulled out our really cool volcano fire pit we got for Christmas a few years ago.

We pulled out our sparklers and the girls had a lot of fun...

Sorry I cant flip the video you just have to turn your head :)

Then we roasted some marshmallows and made some yummy smores...
Sophie lit her marshmallow on fire and did not react at all but I guess it still tasted good...

Lydia fully enjoyed her smore and made a complete sticky mess of herself...

We then celebrated our New Year somewhere in the Atlantic and counted down at 8pm. We watched the video of the NY Ball Drop of 2010 haha. Sophie really got into it even though she didn't really know what we were counting for.

And I finished my January wreath! Ok so I'm being kind of lazy and I am just going to change out the decorations on my white wreath  because I just really love this wreath. Happy New Year everyone!!!
