Yesterday

Last week Sophie wanted to take her bike out to ride and she actually started to pedal!! I ran and got the camera and sadly it was dead. So yesterday I took her out so I could record it. But sadly my child is stubborn and prefers to go Flinstone style.
Or because she likes to have control she just walks with it....

But hey as long as she has fun that is fine. Someday she will use the bike they way it was made to be used. We found some flowers...

And then Sophie got mad at me for taking so many pictures. "Don't take pictures of me mom!!!"

Okay Sophie..

Then when Daddy got home instead of doing homework they danced and I made cupcakes because doing homework is just no fun...

After we put the kids to bed we realized we needed to be responsible so we did our homework.

Home Show

Saturday Mom and Dad took us to the Home Show they have in Tucson every year. There is a whole bunch of booths for home improvement set up from patio design to kitchen gadgets. We even saw some puppies..
Sophie was like a magnet to water. I think she found every fountain display...
She even led the way for a bit. And enjoyed the free stuff....

Lydia was content just to be held...

We even lounged on some nice beds....

It was fun to see all the the different things. Chad and I really liked this fountain that ran off of collected rainwater. There was also some really nice syn lawn there too that looked like real grass. Sadly here in the desert real grass just isn't a good option. It was a fun night. Thanks Mom and Dad!

Ressurection Rolls

My sister in law did these with her kids last year and I thought it was such a good way to teach kids about Easter. So we did it with the girls last night.
First you take the marshmallow (Jesus' body after he was crucified)......
and dip it in butter. (the oils they put on Christ's body)...

Then dip it in the spices they put on Him (cinnamon and sugar)....

Then they wrapped him in Linen (crescent roll)....

And placed Him in the tomb (oven)....
And after 3 days (or 12 minutes at 350*).....

The tomb is empty!!! He is risen!!!!

Lydia was excited!

Sophie was so funny when she saw it was empty she kept asking "Where did Jesus go?" "Jesus Rose!!" Here is a link to the video of her I don't know how to turn it sorry you may just have to tilt your head. Video

Near Death Experience

Lydia loves putting everything in her mouth. She is eiether eating her fist, a toy, or a burp cloth pretty much all of the time.
Sophie is always very helpful and hands her soft toys and helps her get it to her mouth. What a sweet big sister right?
Yesterday we were getting ready for church and Chad came into the bathroom to talk to me. The girls were in Sophie's room for a whole minute when Chad says "umm it sounds like Lydia is drowning."
We go in and Sophie says she put something in her mouth. When I asked her what she said a bird. Uh?

She has this little Cinderella dressup doll that came with a tiny plastic bird about the size of a finger nail. I immediatley put my finger in Lyds mouth and sure enough it was in her throat. Okay so it wasn't really a near death experience because she could still breath but she was garggling.I was afraid of pushing it back more so Chad faced her down and luckily out it came. Thank Goodness.

I am sure Sophie was just trying to help since she knows she loves to chew things but boy did we have a talk.

Music and Mess

Sophie could possibly be the messiest person I know when it comes to eating.
Exhibit A:
Exhibit B:

(You will have to click on the pic to see the cereal in her hair) Seriously it is amazing how messy she can get. Even foods like goldfish it is a MESS.
You probably wouldn't believe me if I told you that she hates being messy. But it is true.....really. She told me "Mommy Im all messy. I need a bath."
On another note to prove to you that she really doesn't stop talking or making some sort of noise here is some evidence...

Ladies and Gentlemen...I rest my case.

Sophie

Sophie is such a funny kid. She makes me laugh all the time. (ok not all the time but a lot)

Yesterday I had a doctors apointment for my thyroid. Sophie Loves going to the doctor. Probably because everyone talks to her and gets excited to see her.
Just like on Dora there are certain destinations we have to pass to get there. She kept telling me we needed to go to the waterfall, princess castle, and then to the doctors office. I had no idea what she was talking about, but sure enough there is a waterfall outside a apartment complex that we pass. And the princess castle is in front of Golf n Stuff as part of the minigolf that we have to pass also. I had to laugh I couldnt believe that she picked up on that.

We have a routine at the office. Get in the elevator, I sign in and Sophie finds somewhere to sit, she grabs both of us a magazine and we sit and look through them. (we get quite a few looks and comments while we read). When the nurse called us back Sophie walks toward her waves and says "Good Morning!"  and then proceeds to tell everyone she sees that Lydia is her sister. Then after the appointment we go sit by the fountain outside and she plays with the water. Then we go home.
She loves being a big sister and insists on helping change diapers, get Lydia dressed, and especially singing to her baby sister.

She can sing the ABCs by herself but she gets so excited about the end of the ABC song that I have to interupt her with the letters so she wont skip to the end. But she was excited to sing them to Lydia. And if you are wondering why we were hanging out in the bathroom I was getting ready for the day and apparently I needed an audience.
