Sarah's Baby Shower!!

Saturday was Sarah's baby shower!! She is having a little boy and I am so excited!

I had a lot of fun planning her shower. His nursery is all about baseball so I made invitations that looked like baseball tickets...

We had a concessions table...

with lots of yummy food like pretzel bites,  fruit pizza cookies, veggie cups, and caprice salad bites...

We also had a popcorn station with cake batter popcorn and butter popcorn. My mom and I made these toally cute popcorn boxes. They said "Lil Slugger Jackson" with the Cubs logo on them. Sadly I didnt get a close up picture but they are in this picture...

and our drink table....Jeanette made cute labels for all of the water bottles and fun mason jars to drink out of...

With the help of my wonderful Mother-in-Law I made a sign for Jackson, the concessions sign, and some fun onesies...

My cousin Amber made some adorable sugar cookie favors...

And Jeanette made some cute cracker jack favors too...

Thank you Mom, Mom Clayton, Jeanette, Amber, and Aunt Linda for all of your help!!  Cant wait to meet Little Jackson in a few weeks!!!

The Coolest and Sadest Monsoon I have ever Seen!

Last night we were reading scriptures with the girls and getting them ready for bed. It had been thundering for awhile and then when Chad started to explain the scripture to them it started hailing like crazy and the power went out. We stood at the window and watched the most insane monsoon I had ever seen! Our tree was bent in half, our recycles were flying everywhere and the hail was insanely loud.

It was all really cool and fun to watch until I realized....Our Garden!

Totally destroyed...so sad. But at least our tree made it!

Here is our front porch after the storm finally stopped....

It looked just like Sonic Ice had just been dumped there. We were able to keep the girls calm so they could go to bed without being scared. But with the power out that meant no night light. Which I knew Sophie would have issues with. Chad got creative and ran out into the storm and retrieved one of our solar porch lights!

It was a little bright so we wrapped it up in a towel. It worked perfectly! Nice to know we have those for these situations. Thank goodness for my smart hubby I'm not sure it would have even crossed my mind.

Going to the Temple

With Chad's new job he gets to travel to Phoenix once a month. On Friday we all went with him! We dropped him off at work and then went and played. We had a little bit of time before the mall opened so we hung out at Michaels. I discovered that Lydia has a purse fetish...

I took the girls to play at the play area in the mall. They had a blast and it was nice because it was not crowded at all. I never like going to Park Place Mall here because there are always a million kids packed in there.

Then we headed and picked up Chad from work! My cousin Amber was awesome and watched the girls for us! She lives really close to the Temple so it made it nice! Sophie was beyond excited to spend time with her again! They had a lot of fun...

She took them to a cute splash park!

It was a fun day! We are really liking Daddy's new job!!

Photo Shoot

Back in February We headed to Phoenix with the girls. Amber was nice enough to watch the girls for us so we could go to the Temple. The girls had a blast and Sophie could not stop talking about Amber after that day.  Amber took a lot of really cute pictures of the girls and I thought I would share a couple of my favorites...

Lydia used to pose like this all the time. I loved it!

Classic Sophie pose for the camera.

I don't know why she thinks she always needs to tilt her head.

This one by far is my favorite!! It just shows their personalities perfectly!

And finally the classic Lydia grin. What a goofball.

It is amazing how much Lydia has changed in such a short time. Thank you Amber for the fun day and cute pictures!!

Boise Vacation The End

On Monday we headed back home. The girls and I rode home with Grandma Clayton (she was one brave soul traveling 2 long days with Lydia in the car). Although Lydia was much better than I had expected. She had some pretty goofy moments...

And many moments of trying to escape her car seat. We stopped in Brigham City and checked out the new Temple that is almost done...

And the Tabernacle across the street...

Once we hit Phoenix we got really excited because we were almost home! Then we got stuck in traffic. Then we got close to Picacho Peak and off to the side it looked like large smoke clouds. I called Chad and asked if there were fires but he said he hadn't heard of any. Then a few minutes later we found out that it was a giant dust storm and were caught in the middle of it! Sadly I had only taken pictures on my cell but this is basically what it was like...

I guess they call these dust storms "Haboobs" and several people die in accidents in them every year. We pulled over and watched crazy people walking around outside around an accident and called 911 to report it. I don't know how long it lasted but it was kind of scary. Then we realized all of our stuff was going to be full of dust in the back of the truck. Once we finally got out of the haboob....it rained. Awesome. But we made it home in one piece!

It was such a fun vacation! But it was nice to get home! The girls were beyond excited to be home and sleep in their own beds. Sophie jumped onto her bed and said "I missed you!!"

Boise Vacation Part 7

Kimberley cut every ones hair while on vacation even Miss Sophie...

This was Sophie's first haircut. I never cut it because I didn't want her to lose the cute curl at the bottom, but it started looking pretty scraggly so it was time. I thought she would not be ok with it but she was pretty excited. She did tell Aunt Kimberly that she didn't want it short like mine...silly girl. In the end she still has the cute curl and it looks much better!

The last part of our vacation was a Family Reunion at Chad's Grandparent's house. The theme was Luau and Mom made all the fun shirts for everyone!

There were games to play...

And a ton of yummy food...I think Lydia liked that part especially...

And lots of sunscreen...

Uncle Duane had his new puppy there. She was such a sweet dog and Lydia fell in love....

We also made beads for Ben's Bells which was a lot of fun....

and Chad's cousin Angie took family pictures..

The day before we left we did Book of Mormon Journey with all of the kids. We talked about Ammon defending the flocks. The kids got to make sheep out of marshmallows and candy...

The next day we all headed home....

Boise Vacation Part 6

While in Boise all the girls decided we wanted to learn how to drive the Model A's. Chad's Grandfather is a certified trainer for MAFCA in training women to drive and he instructed us.

The first part was a class where we learned about the car and what to check before getting into the car, what to do, and of course what not to do while driving....I think we made him a little nervous with all of the questions we were asking lol. I looked at him and asked "Are you really ready for us?" He just shook his head...

I was so nervous about starting the car and then Grandpa went into being careful not to use the brake too much and stories of people losing there breaks coming down a hill and almost hitting children crossing the road to school. Then I was terrified about stopping the car....We were all really nervous. Apparently Grandpa did that on purpose so that we would be careful.

Then in his wisdom he told our husbands not to drive with us because they would make us nervous. Haha so true. I rode with Seth and he was very patient with me and taught me some tricks. He had us load everyone in the cars along with all 10 of our children.

Nerve wracking?

Yes.

Landon was very concerned. He asked his mom if she was driving and she told him yes and then he replied quite worried asking if we had even practiced yet?

Nope...Grandpa was awfully trusting. With every one's lives in danger we headed to complete the 100 mile course.....I got to drive this little beauty...

But once we got rolling it was so much fun!!!  We drove to Payette and stopped for root beer floats and then headed back to Grandpa's. Driving it wasn't too hard at all, although I did kill it a couple of times, but other than that it was smooth riding (well as smooth as a model a can be).

We were awarded our awesome patches for completing the course!!!

The patch says "This Lady Drives a Ford Model A"

That's right!

I told Chad when our station wagon gets done he is going to have to fight me for the driver's seat!
