Mini Vacation at the Zoo

On Saturday after I went to the temple we headed to the Phoenix Zoo. We were really excited until Chad found out that his wife that cant think properly forgot to bring the stroller...oops.  Chad would see a mom pushing her kid in a stroller and say "Look honey that could have been us happily pushing our children in our stroller."  But the girls were awesome! And they walked most of the Zoo so it wasn't bad at all. But next time I definitely wont forget it.

First we saw the Orangutans the girls really liked them and they were fun to watch.

Sophie was our guide. She carried the map everywhere and anytime we moved five feet to see and animal she would pull out the map and say "where are we?"
We went to monkey village and got to go in and walk around the Squirrel Monkeys. They were so cute. Lydia would get all excited and point at it and say "DOG !!!"
Apparently all animals are dogs right now and they say moo.

She also wanted to climb in and play with all of the animals....

They also liked the Baboons. They were right up against the window trying to get warm in the sun...
If your wondering about the one on the floor in the background...um.... yeah we were too...

We thought for sure it was dead. But he did blink so apparently he is just bored?

They had a tree house to climb up and look at the giraffes..

Chad and Sophie were watching the Mountain Lions. They were sleeping when I showed them to Lydia and she decided that pine needles were far more interesting....

But then Chad and Sophie said "roar" to the mountain lions and one of them had to climb down and check them out. Lyds and I totally missed it.

It was such a fun weekend and even better the girls slept all the way home and played happily the rest of the night!

Mini Vacation

This last weekend we decided to take a mini vacation to Mesa and take the girls to see the Christmas lights at the temple. Sophie was very excited and kept telling me when she gets older she is going to go to the temple in a pretty dress and get married.

Sorry in advance for the hard to see pictures. I didn't realize until the end of the night that my flash was not on :(

Lydia was completely fascinated by all of the lights and I could not get her to face me for any pictures.

Chad went in to the temple and I took the girls around and into the visitors center. I wanted to go see the nativities from around the world but these two girls just did not want to do anything but look at.....

Which was perfectly fine with me. It was so cute to see how excited they both were and we listened to the presentation a couple of times. It was a great night. Sophie loved that she got to go and see the temple.

"Look Mom the Temple!!"
The next day we took them to the Phoenix Zoo. I will post about that tomorrow!

Happy 1st Birthday Lydia Bug!

Yesterday was Lydia's first birthday she was pretty excited....
Sophie was so excited too I think she said "Happy Birthday Lydia!" a million times..
Both Grandparents came over and we had birthday cake. Lydia had stared and asked for this cake all day. A Lady Bug for our little Lydia Bug.
I had told her no all day and then when I said go ahead. She just stared at it and looked at everyone else...but after some convincing she dug in..

And got pretty full...She ate alot...

Then she got to open her gifts..It took a little convincing. She was just excited to carry the bag around. She got a really cute outfit from Grandma and Grandpa Clayton sadly I didn't get a picture of it...

And we gave her a Alphaberry. It is covered in buttons and says the alphabet. Kind of weird but she loves buttons....

Happy Birthday Lydia Bug!!! We Love you!!!!

Happy Birthday Day

Saturday was my birthday. My wonderful husband with the help of his sisters got me some really cute boots for my birthday! I was so excited! My sister had some skinny jeans that she gave me too!

Sophie loves birthdays and probably sang happy birthday to me at least 100 times. I loved it. She would randomly say "Mom! It's your happy birthday day! Can I sing happy birthday?!"

Chad's work had a Christmas party at El Molinitas so we all got ready to go...

It was a lot of fun and girls were great even though it was way past their bedtime. That was a nice birthday present! And they all embarrassed me and sang me happy birthday and I got some yummy flan. Thanks everyone for the birthday wishes!

Christmas Wreath

I finally finished my Christmas wreath!
I found the tutorial for the fluffy rosette wreath Here.
I love how it turned out! And my mother in law let me borrow her Go Cutting machine so the circles were a breeze to cut!!

On another note I am so glad it finally feels like winter and its not a million degrees outside! Although it is pretty cold and Karl has found a new spot in the house to keep warm..

Although I'm sure he will probably rethink his spot since he gets so much attention there.

Build a Bear Birthday

Grandma and Grandpa Clayton took Lydia to Build a Bear for her birthday. It isn't until the 14th but they will be going out of town. Lydia LOVES stuffed animals. She was so excited to get to pick one out..
She found the one she wanted right away and was ready to leave before it was even stuffed..

But we did get her to stand and wait in line...
She picked out her heart and put it in her bear...

She loves her Lovey Bear thanks grandma and grandpa!

Moms Birthday Surprise!

Six months ago my father in law asked us to throw a surprise party for my wonderful mother in law. I was so excited but nervous because I had never done something this big before that I was completely in charge of. There hasn't been quite as many blog posts lately because well everything we have done has involved this party! So Wednesday was finally the big day! All of her kids were able to come which was awesome!
Seriously they saved me from a nervous breakdown and we were able to get everything done hours before the party. Thanks Aimee, Kimberly, Seth, and my Love you guys are the best! Grandma and Grandpa Clayton even came down for the occasion!

Aimee came up with the theme Breakfast at Tiffany's.....

My sister Sarah came and helped us make the tissue pom pom balls that I think really tied everything together.

Kimberly put together the music video of all the grandkids for mom that turned out better than I could ever imagine and she made some amazing jewelry for the guests to "Frost" themselves!

And Jeanette's dad made these cute boxes for us that we filled with chocolate to look like Tiffany jewelry boxes...

Happy 50th Birthday Mom we love you!
