While in Boise all the girls decided we wanted to learn how to drive the Model A's. Chad's Grandfather is a certified trainer for MAFCA in training women to drive and he instructed us.
The first part was a class where we learned about the car and what to check before getting into the car, what to do, and of course what not to do while driving....I think we made him a little nervous with all of the questions we were asking lol. I looked at him and asked "Are you really ready for us?" He just shook his head...
I was so nervous about starting the car and then Grandpa went into being careful not to use the brake too much and stories of people losing there breaks coming down a hill and almost hitting children crossing the road to school. Then I was terrified about stopping the car....We were all really nervous. Apparently Grandpa did that on purpose so that we would be careful.
Then in his wisdom he told our husbands not to drive with us because they would make us nervous. Haha so true. I rode with Seth and he was very patient with me and taught me some tricks. He had us load everyone in the cars along with all 10 of our children.
Nerve wracking?
Yes.
Landon was very concerned. He asked his mom if she was driving and she told him yes and then he replied quite worried asking if we had even practiced yet?
Nope...Grandpa was awfully trusting. With every one's lives in danger we headed to complete the 100 mile course.....I got to drive this little beauty...
But once we got rolling it was so much fun!!! We drove to Payette and stopped for root beer floats and then headed back to Grandpa's. Driving it wasn't too hard at all, although I did kill it a couple of times, but other than that it was smooth riding (well as smooth as a model a can be).
We were awarded our awesome patches for completing the course!!!
The patch says "This Lady Drives a Ford Model A"
That's right!
I told Chad when our station wagon gets done he is going to have to fight me for the driver's seat!

Red, White, Blue, and some Green Too!
For the forth of July we headed over to Grandma and Grandpa Clayton's house!
Grandma and Grandpa Miller Came too! along with Natalie and the boys! We had a yummy BBQ and homemade ice cream. After we played some fun games! The kids really got into Twister...
Especially Lydia...
Apparently that's what we looked like because she did that the whole time. Then one of the neighbors invited us to watch their fireworks with them...
We had fun celebrating red, white, and blue. This morning I woke up to some exciting Green!!
They were just tiny plants when we left for Boise and now they have gone nuts! And when looking at them this morning I found....
3 Cantaloupe!!! and...
4 Honeydew!!!
Apparently the third time is the charm for gardening. Maybe we have a green thumb after all....maybe.

Boise Vacation Part 5
We took all the kids to the zoo and got up front and personal with the king of the jungle...
He thought they looked delicious and took a swipe at them...
The kids had a lot of fun and I think Lydia enjoyed spending some time in the wagon with her sister...
We fed the goats while we were there. Lydia literally fell in love with them and kissed several of them...She was in heaven...
We went and saw some butterflies..
Lydia wanted to touch them so bad. When I would tell her not to touch them she would try and kiss them.
After we had a picnic at the park with the kids. Chad and Kimberly put together a fun relay race for everyone to do. It was so funny but sadly my camera died and all I got was part of Sophie and Tykell's race.
Another day we took them to the Discovery Center which was a really cool hands on science center.
This chair was fun you had to pull yourself up and then the air brakes would slowly let you down...
They had a really cool play grocery store. Sophie of course loved it. There was some other kids checking things out and she waited very patiently in line with her cart.
They had a lot of fun things to do..
There was even a bed of nails you could lay on...
This was Landon's favorite he would tell you to get on, raise the nails, and then laugh at you..HAHA silly boy.

Boise Vacation Part 4
While some of the adults went to the meet's potato bar social, we took the kids to the splash park...
Then they all shared a snow cone. 10 kids against one snow cone...I'm sure you know who won...
Then we headed to The Dairy Days Parade. They handed out chocolate milk, string cheese, and of course candy...
During our vacation 5 adults and 6 kids stayed in 2 rooms at a extended stay hotel. It was a lot of fun filled with several sleep overs. When everyone would hangout at the hotel there was only one good place to sit the kids to eat...
On one of the days (its all a blurr so I'm sure nothings in the right order) we took the kids to a fun game place. I cant remember the name of it but it was basically a much cooler Chuckie Cheese. They had bumper cars, a merry go round, and a lot of games...

Testimony
Last month during fast and testimony meeting Sophie told us that she wanted to go up and bear her testimony. We told her that we would let her practice during family home evening and then she could go up next month. I printed some pictures of Christ, the Temple, the Prophet and things like that and taped them to her fingers to remind her on what she could bear her testimony on. I would point to one picture and ask her what do you know about this? She did great and has such a sweet testimony.
Then we went on vacation and hadn't practiced at all. This last Sunday during testimonies Sophie looked at me all excited and asked "Mom are they bearing their testimonies!?" I told her they were and she immediately replied "I want to too! But we didn't bring my finger stickers." I explained she couldn't use the stickers. I was a bit nervous because when I asked her to tell me it then she couldn't remember how to start it. So we did a quick crash course and headed up.
She started out great! She said "I would like to bear my testimony. I know this Church is true...." Then she blanked she kept looking at me and I kept smiling and saying keep going. She would at her fingers then at me. I finally whispered to her "end it like a prayer" She paused for quite awhile between every word but ended with an excited "Amen!" She was too cute and I was proud of her for being brave and doing it.
The Bishop got up after to close and thanked her for reminding us to slow down because sometimes we bear our testimonies too quickly. She was so excited and I will be sure to help her practice before next month.

Boise Vacation Part 3
After Salt Lake we headed up to Boise for the Model A Meet. It was a lot of fun driving in Grandpa's old cars!
I was afraid after so many days in the car getting there the girls would hate it, but when they don't have to sit in a car seat it makes a huge difference. They loved every minute of it...
My parents and Toodles came with us and we had so much fun!
On Saturday the girls went to the Fashion High Tea while the boys went on a tour to Lucky Peak. We made dresses for all of them to match the time period. They all looked so cute!
Even Kimberley Dressed up for the Occasion...
The tea was fun they had fun drinking lemonade out of tea cups. They had a little fashion show too.
Besides Lydia spilling her drink everywhere within the first five minutes they were all perfect little ladies. After we met the boys up at Lucky Peak and had a BBQ and the kids swam.
The last day of the meet they did some fun car games...
Chad and I went together and it was so much fun! First Chad had to parallel park, then we had to take the front tires off of a model a and switch them and put them back on, then we had to go fishing from the car, and the last event was a potato toss while wearing gloves and a fire helmet.
We didn't end up going to the awards ceremony but apparently Clayton Cars won most of the events. Dad and Kimberly even got a first place trophy for fishing!
