Changes

We finally finished laying all of the tile in our house! We love how it turned out and let me just say with how many crumbs I sweep up everyday our carpet must have been disgusting! Seriously gross.

The program I have been doing for five and a half years for work ended suddenly a few weeks ago. That left me with nothing but an invitation for a new, challenging, involved call program. For this I could not have any interruptions whatsoever. This meant of course no kids in the office while I work. So Chad and I determined I could wake up early and start work at 5 and work for a few hours before he goes to work. Surprisingly it has worked well so far and just working the 2 hours a day as opposed to 6 should cover what I need it to.

This also means that I don't have to work during the day which is very strange to me. The girls are still getting used to it but love that we can play together and they don't have to wait until 2pm to do so. It is all they have known since my first day of working from home was the day before Sophie was born. So we have been having fun spending time together! We have played in the little pool a lot.

We have also gone to the park several times. I have even been able to ride my bike to take Sophie to preschool. She rides her scooter and Lydia and Easton enjoy the ride.

We even went to the zoo and saw the baby lions. Sophie said they were so cute she wanted to take them home.

We were also chased by a peacock who wanted our lunch. We were sitting by the zebras eating sandwiches when a peacock kept creeping closer and closer. I am not sure how friendly they are and Lydia's eyes grew big with fear so I threw a piece of bread far away from us so it would leave. Big mistake. I had the girls quickly jump in the stroller only to be chased all the way to the grizzly bear exhibit before it gave up the chase. I am sure I looked like a crazy person running through the zoo.

We went to the library for preschool yesterday. We enjoyed story-time and the kids got to paint a picture. I was impressed by Lydia's artwork. She painted flowers all by herself...

It is fun to actually get to spend time with my kids during the day. It is going to take awhile to get used too though. I have gotten bored a few times since I am so used to working all day I am not sure how to fill the time. The kids are so used to playing on their own that sometimes they just want to play without me. I am sure when school starts though (both Sophie's and mine) life will get busy again. But for now I am going to enjoy.

Pima County Fair

On Monday we took the kids to the Fair. Sophie and Lydia have been talking about it for weeks. Every time we drive out to Grandma Miller's they point at the Ferris wheel and talk a mile a minute about riding it. Grandma and Grandpa Clayton came with us! And the girls had fun on the rides.

Lydia was crushed to find out that she was too short to ride the Ferris Wheel. We finally convinced her to go on other rides though and she was really excited to sit in the front of the roller coaster.

And the petting zoo was amazing! There were animals everywhere...

Lydia was too cute. All of these goats and sheep would come right up to her and she would hug them and say "Mom I made a friend!"

My favorite by far was the small cow. I think they are called a Zebu. I really wanted to take them home. And Easton just wanted to climb into every cage possible and live with the animals.

There was also a fun play area for kids where they could milk a pretend cow, harvest vegetables, and pan for copper.

Lydia got right in there to milk the cow. Sophie on the other hand wouldn't touch it.

We enjoyed some yummy fair food and the kids loved the fair so much we ended up staying way past their bedtime. We all even went for ice cream on the way home where we experiences the awesomeness of BTO frozen yogurt. They are already talking about going again next year and Lydia is determined to be tall enough for the Ferris Wheel.

Easter

For Easter we stayed at Grandma and Grandpa Clayton's since we had no toilet at our house from tiling.

The girls were pretty excited over their tickets for rides at the Fair! They have wanted to go to the fair since last year. But since Easton was only a few days old last year we didn't go. I told Sophie we could go the next year and she remembered and reminded me several times.

Sophie is a part of the primary choir at church and was picked to play hand bells for a song. She did a great job remembering when to play her bell. After church we headed to Grandma and Grandpa Miller's house for dinner...

We had a massive Easter egg hunt.

The little ones were happy to hang out with their eggs.

It was a good Easter and I felt like our kids really got the meaning of why we celebrate it this year. Sophie and Lydia kept reminding me that Easter was about Jesus being resurrected.

Easton is One!

On Friday Easton turned one year old! It is hard to believe he is that big. On Thursday we had Grandma and Grandpa Miller and Clayton come over for dinner. I made Easton a construction cake. Seriously the easiest cake I have ever made.

And I think Easton really enjoyed it...

He did an excellent job destroying it and especially loved digging it it with his toys. He was even ready to go after the big cake.

Then he opened his presents with a lot of help from his sisters...

He got a dump truck and a cute dress shirt and tie. He especially loved his new sunglasses. He thought he looked pretty cool,

The next day on his Birthday we headed to Grandma and Grandpa Millers to swim...

And Aunt Sarah brought his favorite snack in the whole world, veggie straws. He was in heaven.

Then we headed home and Easton helped Chad get the floor ready to finish...

Grandpa Clayton came over and helped us finish laying tile and Grandma watched the kiddos. They even let us stay at their house for the weekend since we couldn't use our bathroom. Final pictures of our floor are coming soon.

Easton loved playing in the backyard with Grandma and Grandpa's dump truck. He would push it all over.
