Happy Halloween!

For Halloween this year the girls wanted to be Cinderella so I was going to make Easton Gus Gus. Then the day before Sophie decided she wanted to be a superhero instead since she got a cute cape from her friend. Thank you Grandma for saving us last minute with a super shirt.

Lydia was being a complete bum and we barely even got her into her costume. We practically dragged her kicking and screaming but we made it to the trunk or treat. It was actually pretty cold and Easton hung out and helped pass out candy with Dad and Grandma.

Sophie went around with Grandpa and told him they were done when her bucket was full. She didn't even go to all of the cars. On the way home I asked if they had fun and they both said yes. Which was a shock because Lydia said she wanted to go home the whole time and I had to hold her for most of it. They wanted to go tonight too since it was real Halloween but I think we have enough candy.

For preschool today the kids get to dress up and Sophie decided she wanted to be Fawn from Tinker Bell. Thank goodness we have a good variety in our dress up box.

Happy Birthday Sophie

Yesterday Sophie turned 5 years old. It is crazy to think we have a kid that old. She wanted a Princess Aurora party this year. And after last year (when only 2 people came and she was so sad) I was a little nervous. I found an idea for a "Make it Pink. no Blue" theme with the fairies who fight over the color of Aurora's dress in the movie.

I was going to take the easy way out and do cupcakes but Sophie was pretty particular on the details of the party and wanted a pink and blue cake that looked like the fairies had fought over. To our pleasant surprise ten kids came! She had an absolute blast. Chad and I realized how little our house is haha.

They played freeze dance and played with all of the pink and blue balloons.

 

 

We also did a piñata. 

 

 

Sophie was thrilled to have so many friends come and play. 

 

On Monday she got to go on her birthday date with Grandma Miller. She was so excited to go and took her time deciding exactly what she wanted. I forgot to take a picture of it but she got a fun Barbie with a oven and little cupcake stuff. Then she got to go to McDonalds for lunch or as my kids call it "Old McDonalds" She had a blast and hasn't stopped playing with the Barbie ever since.

On her actual birthday we kept it pretty simple. She got to pick what she wanted to eat and she opened her present from us. She has wanted this movie for a while. Grandma and Grandpa Clayton were able to come for dinner and have some cupcakes with us. and brought her a fun birthday card with one of her favorite princesses, Merida.

Happy Half Birthday Easton

Easton turned 6 months old on Friday! He has grown so much and wants to be a big kid. He gets up on all fours now and rocks. Its only a matter of time before he is crawling. Right now he just scoots backwards when he tries which frustrates him to death. We think he is going to crawl before he can sit up without falling over.

 

 

 

He loves to stand and will hold himself up to things if you put him there.

 

 

He is our little happy man...

 

He communicates in manly grunts. It just cracks us up because neither Chad or I can imitate it. It comes from so deep within him.

He absolutely loves baths and would probably sit in it all day...



He thinks Sophie is the most hilarious person ever and laughs and squeals at her silliness..

He also loves his Daddy and enjoyed some football with him the other night..

Disney on Ice!

 

After Chad's party on Saturday Grandma and Grandpa Clayton took us to Disney on Ice! The girls were so excited when Grandpa called and invited them. They immediately started deciding what they were going to wear...

 

 

They thought it was so cool to be able to leave the house in their dress up clothes. 

The show was amazing and the girls were in heaven. Lydia clapped every time they did a cool trick. She got really tired toward the end and kept asking me when Belle was coming. She was the last Princess to come on. She kept fighting to stay awake and in the middle of Be Our Guest she finally passed out. Like she was finally content because she saw her.

 

Sophie sat at the edge of her seat the whole time. And sighed with pure joy when each princess came on stage. She fell in love with the show and has asked when we are going back.  

 

 

Easton even loved the show. He stayed up the whole time. I thought for sure he would sleep. But he was too excited. Mom was holding him during The Little Mermaid and he was completely focused on the roof and kicking with excitement. We weren't sure what he was so excited over but then looked up and there were lights shining on the roof. He kept looking at the roof the rest of the night looking for the lights.

 



Surprise!

Chad is officially finished with his Bachelor's Degree! We are so proud of him! He has worked so hard to get it done while working, building a car, and taking care of our crazy family. I wanted to do something special for all of his hard work so I planned a surprise party for him.

 

The best weekend to do it happened to be the same weekend of my Mom's birthday. So I told him that we were going to my parents for a party for her. He had no clue it was really for him!!

 

 

We were late (on purpose) and when he opened the door everyone yelled surprise and started to sing "For he's a jolly good fellow". He thought they were making fun of us for being late and it took him awhile to realize that it really was for him. He was completely surprised which is rare because I can never surprise him.

 

We played some fun minute to win it games boys vs. girls.

 

The boys won and it was a lot of fun! Congratulations Chad we love you!

 

So Fashionable

 

Sophie did Lydia's hair yesterday. She had Lydia sit in front of her and sprayed and brushed her hair all nice. And then put in as many bows as she could.

 

 

She was so proud of her new hair style and they thought they were so fashionable.

Baby Dime

A couple weeks ago Chad put the kids to bed so I could go to zumba. He had them all in bed and started his homework when he heard crying. Sophie was hyperventilating and finally told him "I swallowed a baby dime!" (She just learned about money in preschool mama quarter, daddy nickel, sister penny, etc). Apparently she had her piggy bank on her bed and thought it was a great idea to suck on a dime and down it went.

Chad called the nursing line and the nurse told him that he needs to go through her poop for the next 5 days and make sure it comes out. To which Chad replied "Oh no no no my wife left me home alone with the children. SHE will be going through the poop." The nurse said that was funny...kind of not funny...but funny.

When I got home he informed me of the situation and told me that I was lucky he didn't have to take 3 children to the ER or else I would have had to owe him Big time. As in he could do anything he wanted for like a year. I laughed and told him I take 3 children everywhere its not a big deal. And he said "yeah but you're a trained professional."

So the next week I combed through more poop then I ever imagined and nothing. So I took her in for x-rays thinking well maybe this is one of her hypochondriac moments and she didn't really swallow it. She got in her little robe and layed on the table and sure enough it was there. A bright gleaming circle on her side. I was so sad I forgot my camera!! But the doc said it was siting where the large and small intestine connect and was worried it might be stuck. And if it didn't progress they would have to use a scope to get it out. They gave her miralax to take over the weekend and a few days later...

I finally got paid for my dirty job! I have never been so glad to see a dime in my life.
