Gilbert Temple Open House

Yesterday we were able to go to the Gilbert Temple open house. Chad's parents were able to come with us which was fun! The girls were so excited to be able to go inside the Temple.

The Temple was gorgeous of course and Sophie just loved all of the rooms. She especially loved the Sealing room and Celestial room. Lydia said it was pretty and liked looking down the staircase. They both really liked the big sparkly chandelier in the Celestial room.

When we got home Chad talked to the girls about how they felt inside of the Temple. Sophie said she felt happy inside. Lydia was pretty tired and said she didn't know but told me today that she felt good inside.

Easton loved the waterfall outside and was ready to get in.

A Random Funny Moment from Miss Lyds

I keep forgetting to write this down and it popped into my head again today. We read scriptures with the kids every night before bed. We start with each of them saying a scripture then read about a page to them and explain what we read.

Our Miss Lydia..we love her to death but she can be quite stubborn and has a bit of an attitude. She has decided on several nights that she does not want to read her part.

A few weeks ago Chad told Lydia it was her turn to read and she replied "No! I don't want to read I want to be a Lamanite!"

Easton Turns 9 Months Old,Some Firsts, and Some Fun

Easton turned 9 months old on Saturday! He is getting much more vocal and loves to scream when he is excited or upset. His likes to babble "dadada" all of the time. He still very much loves food although he has started to get a little picky. He has decided that green beans are no longer an acceptable vegetable but mashed potatoes are great both to eat and smear all over!

Although he definitely didn't like them in his eyes.  He loves playing with the girls and likes to be in the middle of whatever they are doing. Sometimes the girls do not appreciate this.

He is quite the little mischievous fellow and enjoys doing things we tell him no to. Like playing with the router or sticking his fingers in the VCR...

He tries so hard to get out to the backyard and rams the sliding glass door with his head. So far he has been unsuccessful.

Yesterday we noticed his first tooth had broken through!

Speaking of firsts it was Lydia's first day in Primary as a sunbeam a few weeks ago! It is hard to believe she is that big.

And Sophie was so excited to be a CTR 5.

The other night Chad had a date night with the girls and they decorated a cake. Thank you Grandma Miller for letting us borrow some supplies.

They had a great time and the cake was delicious!

Yesterday Chad made the girls a castle puppet show theater out of cardboard. The girls were so excited. We wrapped it in wrapping paper so they could color all over it.

They did a puppet show for us last night and I have a feeling we will have a lot of performances on our future.

Vacation Weekend

Last weekend we went to Phoenix to see my cousin Amber's cute little boy's blessing. The girls were excited because that meant they got to use the DVD players in the car. They were so funny. they were watching Rise of the Guardians and they would dramatically talk to each other about what they think was going to happen (like they haven't seen it 10 times).

Chad and I joked about what did people do before DVD players in the car for kids. I just remember bringing my pillow in the car and sleeping.

Chad and I took turns going to the Temple. The girls loved walking around the Temple grounds and seeing a pretty bride around every corner. They would get so excited and talk about how pretty their dresses are and their favorite part of their dress. They are definitely girls.

We walked around the mall and checked out the Disney store and Lego store. We were all so hungry and Chad wanted wings which worked out perfectly because there was a Buffalo Wild Wings right by the mall. He dropped me off I thought so I could reserve a table while he parked the car. And apparently he thought I was getting take out so we could eat at the hotel. So after me waiting a half hour sitting at the table and Chad trying to entertain the starving kids in the car waiting for me and the food. We realized we needed to work on our communication. Oops.

We enjoyed the blessing and a yummy lunch at Amber's house and then headed back home. It was a nice little getaway and Chad and I learned an important lesson haha.

Family Pictures

On Saturday my Dad was nice enough to take our family pictures. He did an awesome job and I have so many favorites. And of course we couldn't have family pictures without Eleanor...she is a part of the family after all....

Fun Times

Chad had the whole week of Christmas off which was so nice. My parents gave us some money for Christmas and we found an awesome fire pit for our backyard! We were so excited we decided to have a camping experience at home!

We cooked hot dogs over the fire and made smores of course!

Easton enjoyed it and loved the fire. He got mad when I wouldn't let him get down so he could touch it.

We set up the tent for the girls to sleep in that night which they thought was so cool.

While the girls were brushing their teeth Easton found a new toy to suck on...

He looked hilarious with crazy monster teeth. It is actually Lydia's brush for her pony but Easton thinks it is a great teether.

Merry Christmas

Both of the girls woke up Christmas morning and completely forgot it was Christmas. Lydia even walked past all of the gifts to the bathroom and didn't even notice. We were kind of disappointed in the kids reaction to their Santa gifts. Probably because their was no reaction at all haha. And yes it was exactly what they asked for. I on the other hand was totally excited at the present sitting out from Chad's parents!

My very own pink bike! I was so excited I almost forgot to help Easton with his Santa gift some fun building blocks....

Sophie got an Ariel barbie...

And Lydia got the Magi clip Princesses...

When we started opening gifts Easton thought it was more fun to crawl on top of them and eat the paper and ribbons...

The girls on the other hand knew what to do and they loved opening everything!

Lydia fell in love with her purple scarf from Kamrie!

Sophie got a fun magic set from Landon and even tricked herself...she thought she was a real magician haha.

Easton got a fun driving toy from Zurie which was definitely his favorite Christmas gift...

The girls  got a fun pop up tent and ball pit which turned out to be a winner with Easton also...

And chad got an awesome BSU sign from Dawnese...

and some new toys for the garage thanks Mom and Dad!

Easton even got excited about the new tools and had to check them out...

The girls got new Razor scooters thanks to a killer black Friday sale!!

We brought them to my parents house and the girls got to play on them with all their cousins and their scooters too! Their street is the perfect hill to ride down and the kids had a blast riding scooters and long boards down together.

Merry Christmas!
