Easton is 8 Months Old

Easton is 8 months old today! He is getting so big and has learned some new things. While we were in Oklahoma he started to scrunch his nose and breath in and out really fast when he gets excited just like his big sister Sophie used to when she was little...

He also thoroughly enjoys food. Really any food he hasn't turned anything away yet...

He loves being able to crawl everywhere and pull himself up to things and is still just as happy as can be. He especially enjoys emptying shelves now. The Disney movie shelf is his all time favorite.

He has started to wave which is adorable but I haven't been able to catch it on camera yet. He only does it on his own terms.

 He also has discovered spitting. Chad was holding him on Sunday and teaching his lesson and Easton would randomly would look at him and blow raspberries in his face.

Happy Birthday Lydia Bug!

Saturday was Lydia's Birthday! Our little bug is now 3 years old so crazy! We had a fun filled day. In the morning we went to our Ward Christmas party. We had a yummy breakfast and watched the nativity video. And even a special visitor came...

Sophie told him a different toy then the last Santa visit..not sure if she is trying to get more from him.....or maybe she has given up on the Ariel barbie from Santa's last reaction haha.

I barely got Lydia to stand in front of him.

They had some fun photo booths and props...

Then we headed home and got ready for Lydia's party. She wanted a Sofia the First Purple Princess Tea Party. She was planning on just wearing a Rapunzel dress since she didn't have a Sofia dress. But we had her open her present....

 And she got to be Sofia after all!!!

Everything had to be purple of course...Thank goodness for my Grandmother's purple tea set!

Chad was amazing and dressed up as Baileywick the castle steward and served the guests!! I think that made Lydia's whole day!

I asked Lydia if she wanted me to make purple cookies to eat at her tea party and she said "No I want fruit and Grandma Chocolate (nutella)" So they enjoyed nutella roses on their plates.

Baileywick referred to the girls as "Mam" but with an accent and they just thought it was so funny he was calling them mom. 

And Lydia very much enjoyed her purple chocolate cake. Her two favorite things in the world!

Grandma and Grandpa Clayton were able to come and fill in for some friends that were sick! Thank you! And they gave her a fun Rapunzel card that sang! She wasn't sure what to think of it though....but the next day she carried it everywhere.

And Makenzie brought her a totally cute fairy costume!!

And they decorated some princess fairy wands.

After we got ready to go see a live nativity play. We met Grandma and Grandpa Miller and Grandma and Grandpa Clayton there! They had some stable animals for the kids to pet....

The girl's favorite was definitely the cow.

KGUN9 Field Trip

For my rotation in preschool I taught the kids about the seasons and weather. On the last day they learned all about Meteorologists. So for our field trip I called our local news station KGUN9 and we got to go for a tour. The kids loved it...okay I loved it too I don't know who was more excited me or the kids.

Gary was an awesome tour guide and showed us the radio station first. It was fun to get to wave to the people we just listened to in the car.

We met another guy who does sound bites and he let the kids yell "Merry Christmas!" into the microphones.

The kids liked the big satellite dishes that shoot invisible lasers into space!

Then we got to go into the news room station and the kids got to play with the weather center!

The best part is they got to meet Erin the meteorologist! She taught them how to change the screen just like she does on TV.

 They do a little commercial with people saying "Erin said it would" and the kids got to do it with Erin!

So our kiddos may be on TV one day...

Christmas Tree and Zoo Lights

The kids were excited to put up the Christmas tree this year. Easton loved the box....

The girls did a great job putting the ornaments on. I don't think it has ever gotten done so quickly. 

We were a little worried since we have never had a crawling baby at Christmas but Easton has done really well with the tree. He just likes to crawl under it and on top of the presents.

Last Friday one of Chad's seminary students was singing at the Zoo Lights so we went to see her.

Santa was there which Sophie was so excited about. Lydia didn't want to wait in line and I doubt she would have gotten near him anyway. But Sophie jumped right up on his lap and told him she wanted a Ariel Barbie. And what does Santa reply to her? "That princess is still around?" To which Sophie gives me a worried look.

Really Santa? Seriously you couldn't just say "I've got that ready for you" or "Oh yes I have many of those just make sure you keep being good." But she seemed to forget fairly quickly and was excited that she was able to finally tell Santa what she wanted.
