Silly Girls

Chad is always telling Sophie she can't kiss boys until after she is married. Whenever we watch a movie and a couple kisses she asks if they are married. He will remind her when she can kiss a boy and she says "yeah I know"

Grandma Clayton and Chad were talking about it the other day and Chad told Sophie "No kissing until your married right?" and Lydia pipes in "Yeah but we can hug!!" I think we are in trouble with that one....

Easton is doing well. We get him all dressed up in a cute... I mean handsome outfit every Sunday...

Which he proceeds to pee on pretty much every time. Poor Chad is usually a victim of this also. His life consists mostly of the girls hovering very closely over him....

But he likes it.

1 Month

Easton is 1 month old today...

It is crazy to think he is that old already. Time is flying by. He is such a good little guy and is so patient especially with his sisters. He is smiling a lot more and hopefully sometime I will catch it on camera. He mostly does it when you are talking to him. In the car he enjoys being able to see his sisters. He gets upset of I don't uncover him...

This was his view the other day...

We headed to the hospital since they were giving away free bike helmets. The girls loved them so much they wore them the rest of the day.

Roc N Roll

Mr. Easton Roc is growing too fast. Last Friday we were making breakfast and he was doing some tummy time. Next thing we know he was on his side....

And then all of the sudden we look over and he was on his back!

We thought for sure it was a fluke....I mean he is only 3 weeks old. But he has done it several times since and has gotten pretty good at it.

I just cant believe how big he is getting. His 3 month clothes fit him pretty well and he is too big for newborn. I am so used to the girls who lived in newborn clothes for at least a month.

Current Happenings in the Clayton House

The past couple of weeks have been pretty exciting around here. We have enjoyed snuggling with our little Easton..

He has enjoyed his baths...

The girls have enjoyed holding him every chance they possibly can...

Lydia held him so long the other day she got a little tired...

Easton especially loves snuggling with Daddy....

He also got a super cool Binky from Grandma Clayton which he likes...

He looks pretty awesome with it.

Chad took the girls out to fly their kites...

I guess while Chad was helping Sophie get hers in the air Lydia got her kite up all by herself and was flying it like a pro. She was so proud of herself.

Last weekend my Dad turned 60. Scott and Rachel came to surprise him!! So we were all together and it was a lot of fun!! The kids really enjoyed swimming all together...

We also finished Lydia's big girl quilt! This was definitely a community project! I would have never gotten it done without the help of my awesome Mother-in-law, sister-in-law Aimee, and of course Chad. Seriously they did a lot of work and Lydia LOVES it!

Now the girls have matching blankets (in their favorite colors of course)

Easton Roc

Last Tuesday my doctor said I was at a 4 and if I wanted I could be induced or just wait. Well we were tired of waiting so Thursday we headed to the hospital so we could finally meet our baby boy. 8 hours later Easton Roc Clayton joined our family....

He was born at 5:25pm and was 8lbs 15oz and 20 inches long! (He was just .03 grams away from 9lbs) Everyone in the room was shocked how big he was! Now it makes complete sense on why my ribs hurt so much.

The girls got to stay with Grandma and Grandpa Clayton and were so excited to come see their little brother...

They love him to death and have been awesome with him. Lydia finally accepted the fact that he sleeps in the room with them...

I just noticed Lydia hiding in this picture what a goof.

Easton definitely loves his Daddy. He was giving him little grins the other day.

and we have learned he does not like his back rubbed. But his head ... he absolutely loves...

Tummy Time

Last week at my 38 week appointment my Doctor told me I was already dilated to a 3 and she doubted she would see me at my next appointment. So we quickly did tummy pictures thinking I could pop any minute....

But now the week has passed and still no baby. Poor Chad has been a nervous wreck all week.

We take this picture every time to compare our bellies. What possessed us in the first place to start this odd tradition? No clue.

But here we are with Sophie...

And Lydia...

(As a disclaimer Chad is pushing his belly out as far as he can in all of these pictures)

Grandma's Irises

My Grandma Buchanan loved irises. They were her favorite flower and Iris was her middle name. We named Sophie Iris after her. At her funeral about 8 years ago we all laid an iris on her coffin. My wonderful Aunt Barbara gave all of the grandchildren and great grandchildren an iris bulb that we could plant to help us remember Grandma. She spent a lot of time getting a different type of iris for each person that matched their personalities. I can't remember the name of mine but I sure love the color. So does Lydia....can't imagine why.....

My parents have had them in their garden ever since and now that we have a place in our backyard they sent some home with me. Sunday we got our first blooms!! I was so excited to see that I had actually gotten my iris!

A couple of the blooms look a little sad because we had a huge wind storm yesterday. I was just glad they survived. I stressed over them all day.

It is so nice to look out the window and be reminded of my sweet Grandma.
