Easton is One!

On Friday Easton turned one year old! It is hard to believe he is that big. On Thursday we had Grandma and Grandpa Miller and Clayton come over for dinner. I made Easton a construction cake. Seriously the easiest cake I have ever made.

And I think Easton really enjoyed it...

He did an excellent job destroying it and especially loved digging it it with his toys. He was even ready to go after the big cake.

Then he opened his presents with a lot of help from his sisters...

He got a dump truck and a cute dress shirt and tie. He especially loved his new sunglasses. He thought he looked pretty cool,

The next day on his Birthday we headed to Grandma and Grandpa Millers to swim...

And Aunt Sarah brought his favorite snack in the whole world, veggie straws. He was in heaven.

Then we headed home and Easton helped Chad get the floor ready to finish...

Grandpa Clayton came over and helped us finish laying tile and Grandma watched the kiddos. They even let us stay at their house for the weekend since we couldn't use our bathroom. Final pictures of our floor are coming soon.

Easton loved playing in the backyard with Grandma and Grandpa's dump truck. He would push it all over.

Some Easter Fun

The thing about living in the desert is that swimming season comes early...like April early. The girls jumped in the pool last week....

They exclaimed "Yay summer is here!!!!" Not quite....but when you live in Tucson April is close enough.

Easton and Jackson were the judging panel for the girls techniques in jumping in the pool. Way to go boys!

On Saturday our Ward did a Easter activity. Sophie is a part of the primary choir and sang. She is pretty excited to play bells for a song this Sunday for their Easter performance. They also had a huge Easter egg hunt.

I have never seen a egg hunt end so quickly. Our primary kids are efficient.

Last night for FHE we dyed Easter eggs. And I am happy to report that this is the first year that there was no blue dyed hands or faces yay!

And to end on a funny note from our dear Miss Lydia. For preschool I was teaching the kids about their stomachs and how to eat healthy foods. So I outlined the shape of a stomach on paper and then let them cut out healthy foods from grocery ads and glue them into their stomach picture. Lydia was doing really well cutting and gluing on her own and I was helping the other kids. When she showed me her finished product I was a bit...well shocked. Her choices: french fries, Doritos, strawberries (yay for something healthy!), and um.....beer. What? I just assumed she just thought the box of beer was pretty since she has no idea what beer is. Then later I thought to check what was on the other side maybe some awesome healthy choice!! and behold it was .....cake. Yikes.

Cousin fun and Mount Lemon

Last week Aimee came down for a few days. The girls were so excited to see their cousins! We took them to the children's museum.

Autori and Easton were so cute playing together at the checkout counter.

They had a lot of fun playing together. After we came back to our house and had a bonfire. We cooked hot dogs and had smores of course. Then they all watched Frozen together.

On Saturday we took the girls up to Mount Lemon for a hike and picnic.

The weather was perfect up there and the kids had fun finding moss and pine cones. Easton was in absolute heaven. He loved crawling around in the dirt and playing with sticks, rocks, and pine needles.

We stopped to picnic in an area with a bunch of boulders. The girls loved climbing all over them. Chad found the perfect little cave that he said he would sleep in if he needed to. The girls officially claimed it as the Troll Cave.

On the way back we discovered not to let me lead the way when hiking. I took a wrong turn and ended up taking the kids and I on a detour. Chad laughed and joked that he couldn't leave me for one second without me getting lost. Just for the record we wouldn't have been lost I was heading to the road...its just that I wouldn't have made it to our van...ahem.

Easton 11 Months

Easton is 11 months old today. He is our go with the flow little man or as Chad lovingly calls him E-Dog. Even when we are out and going all day missing his naps he is so good about it. On Saturday we went to a baptism where he was quite the little ladys man...

After we went  to the zoo and then headed to a dance performance by one of Chad's seminary students. He was pretty tired...

 

But he loved watching the dancers. He sat on my lap and jumped up and down he was so excited. One of his favorite things to do is hang out with the girls in their bedroom. He has now started trying to climb the ladder to the bunk beds. But surprisingly he knows how to carefully climb back down all by himself. I was pretty impressed.

He still has no interest in walking. But does like to walk along things. He is content to just crawl. Lately he starts crawling and then lays his head down on the floor to rest and then goes again. It is so funny. He also has a turbo crawl when he is excited. 

 

We got to help Brad and Becca move a couple weeks ago and Easton enjoyed helping. The girls loved spending time with their cousins too.

We drove Eleanor to the park for a picnic yesterday and Easton thouroughly enjoyed dessert. He licked all of the whipped cream off the lid.

The grass was wet but he wanted to crawl on it so the started crawling on his hands and feet it was pretty funny.

I got a bike trailer for Lydia and Easton so I can ride my bike with them. At first Easton was not sure about it and fought me whenever I tried to put him in it. But now he really likes to take rides in it.

Some Fun and the Beginnings of a New Floor!

On Friday I took the kiddos to the gym to play. Ever since Easton was born I haven't driven out there much and the girls were so excited to go.

Easton really enjoyed himself and loved crawling into the foam pit. But his favorite was definately swinging on the rope. He would giggle and jibber jabber while I swung him.

We went to Grandma and Grandpa Millers house of course and had lots of fun there. Lydia was especially excited that Grandma had made brownies! When Chad got off of work we headed over to the driving range to practice our putting. Chad and his Dad shortened some clubs for the girls which they love.

Easton was content to sit and play with one of the holes. He liked to put a ball in and take it out.

Chad and I decided to use part of our tax refund to do something we have wanted to do ever since we bought our house. Tile the floor!!! We haven't had the time since both of us were in school but we started on Saturday and are totally excited!

We fell in love with the tile that looks like hardwood. And thanks to my Mom and Dad we are able to do it ourselves. They came over and did a training session for us and supervised and now we are pros haha. And also a thank you to Grandma Clayton for taking the kiddos to the Children's Museum so we could tile! We started in our dining room which means we have no table. We all picnic on the kitchen floor and the girls have their own table...

Chad and I laughed because this reminds us of when we were newlyweds eating on a little wooden crate on our apartment floor because Chad and his Dad were building our table. Good times.
